School and Family

The relationship between school and family plays an integral role on how we approach and apply our educational programmes.

From the kindergarten level, parents are informed of our educational goals and on how they can contribute at home in helping us meet these goals. At Costeas-Geitonas School we advocate activities that take the form of a game, require little time to implement and present opportunities for parents to be creative and communicate in a constructive way with their children. At the higher levels, parents are encouraged to take part in student events and to regularly attend informational sessions along with their child to discuss progress and future goals.

Parents of students at all levels are kept abreast of developments and informed of the School Regulations.

Communication with Parents
  • Parent-teacher meetings
  • Print and electronic materials
  • Weekly office hours for individual meetings with parents
  • Weekly teacher/tutor communication with parents
Collaboration with Parents
It is essential to maintain close and ongoing communication between the school and family. In addition to 3 parent-teacher meetings held over the duration of the academic year, teachers are available for two hours every week in order to meet individually with parents.

These meetings are an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress and behaviour with their teachers and to look at common ways of approaching any issues so that the student achieves the best possible results.

Parental Consent
Parents must provide written consent in order for their child to participate in any extracurricular activities by signing and returning an official consent form. These activities include educational and cultural visits, walks, field trips, experiential programmes, athletic events, school meets, competitions, tournaments and student conferences held in Greece and abroad.
