The Model United Nations is an educational, non-profit, non-governmental organisation directly linked to the United Nations. Every year MUN organises student conferences in various countries with the participation of students from around the world. MUN’s aim is to make young people aware of world issues, improve their rhetorical abilities and to help them document and support their ideas while gaining knowledge through research and study of international issues and developments.
Costeas-Geitonas School has been an active participant in MUN events since 1996.
We would like to remind you that the deadline for submitting your application is on the 31st of May.
The interviews will take place on our school premises on the 18th of June at 12:00-15:00.
The interviews for the position of DPGA will take place on the 8th of June at 13:00.
Dear MUN Directors and students,
It is our great honour to invite you to the 7th C.G.S.M.U.N conference which will take place from the 14th to the 16th of December 2012 at Costeas-Geitonas School in Athens, Greece.
This year our conference is dedicated to Youth, the problems of whom are of vital importance, as this generation is our world’s future. The delegates of the Special Conference will have to tackle serious issues that young people around the globe face, such as unemployment, a lack of access to education, forced recruitment by armed militias, and other forms of violence.
Other delegates will be called upon to deal with controversial issues related to the Middle East, namely the establishment of a nuclear-weapon-free-zone and the question of Iran, as well as the situation in Syria.
We are delighted to announce that at the 7th C.G.S.M.U.N there will also be a Youth Assembly comprised of two action papers, on performance enhancing drugs and media propaganda respectively. New participants will have the opportunity to get an idea of the rules and procedures and will therefore be able to understand and fully enter the MUN world.
During the three days of our conference students will take on the role of young diplomats, thus enhancing their negotiating and debating skills. They will become aware of issues that need to be combated and will gain the motivation to do so. But most importantly, they will meet new people who share the same passion and interests with them and will form lasting friendships.

Τα Εκπαιδευτήρια Κωστέα - Γείτονα συμμετείχαν με επιτυχία στο 3ήμερο συνέδριο Model United Nations στα Εκπαιδευτήρια Πλάτωνα, που πραγματοποιήθηκε απά την Παρασκευή 2 έως και την Κυριακή 4 Μαρτίου.
Η ομάδα που εκπροσωπούσε το σχολείο μας αποτελούνταν από 27 delegates, 4 εκ των οποίων student officers. Οι χώρες που εκπροσωπήθηκαν απο τους μαθητές μας ήταν οι εξής: Γερμανία, Τουρκία, Σενεγάλη και Χιλή.
