The Hellenic Educational Society is a non-profit organisation founded by educators and administrators of primary, secondary and post-secondary education. The primary aim of the organisation is to promote innovative education in our country through the development of new approaches and collaborations.

To reach these goals, the Hellenic Educational Society is involved in:
- professional development and lifelong learning for educators
- ongoing training for teachers of other sciences and for participants in educational activities promoting theoretical, empirical and experiential learning
- organising academic events including lectures, conferences and international scientific symposia
- organising educational excursions both in Greece and abroad including providing financial assistance for its members to attend conferences and other academic events
- publishing works related to education and education administration
- publishing professional journals and other print and electronic materials
- strengthening research in the field of education
- providing merit-based and need-based scholarships
- ensuring good educational service at the highest level for the benefit of all
- disseminating information to the public and raising awareness on issues that face the educational community
